CHALLENGE NIWA, the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research, consists of multiple science centres, each with its own specialty. NIWA’s branding was disparate and confusing, with each science centre creating its own marketing. APPROACH We developed a strong, cohesive visual identity that linked each science centre under NIWA while also differentiating them. The new branding was reinforced with clear guidelines each science centre could easily follow to generate their own marketing material. OUTCOME The branding articulated NIWA’s work to the public in a fresh, relevant way, repositioning the institute and creating pride among staff.
